See who is on the system now!

Accessing the gateway using your Amateur Radio

Bosch KF163 digXMost of the gateways operate a CTCSS access system which requires a CTCSS capable radio with CTCSS set to a certain tone depending on which link you are using.

To access the MB7IBC-L gateway set your radio to Frequency 145.2375 Mhz, CTCSS tone 67.0

The gateway is very easy to use. Just call CQ ' and you might be surprised who comes back to you as there are gateways all over the world. Note that there can often be a delay from the station that you are speaking to and don't forget to wait for the pips after their over before you transmit. It is also best to press the PTT button on your radio and wait a second before speaking to make sure the beginning of your over doesn't get cut off.
If you don't have CTCSS on your radio you won't be able to transmit to the gateway but you will still be able to listen in on the frequency.

When the system is idle the gateway will announce the identity in speech every 8 minutes. It will also announce the time every 15 minutes.

During the week the network can be fairly busy as it maybe connected to the *IRELAND* conference server, but if you wanted to you could disconnect from the *IRELAND* conference server by using DTMF tone # and then typing a node number using DTMF to connect to any repeater, conference, internet gateway link or pc user anywhere in the world providing you know the node numbers (click HERE for some Node numbers). Please remember people are monitoring even if they're not talking...

Dave (M0IBC)
